Job Description

Our care community is searching for an Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team. We’re looking for a caring, compassionate, experienced professional who loves making a difference in people's lives. We’re looking for an individual who truly cares about making our community the best home possible for our residents. 

Open Positions:

- Part-Time (approximately 24 hours/week) position primarily focused on our memory care neighborhood. 

- Part-Time (approximately 15 hours/week) position primarily focused on our long term neighborhoods. 

 

Primary functions include (but not limited to):

  • Create and provide activities of therapeutic value.
  • Targeting group activities that will provide educational value, mental, physical and sensory stimulation (i.e. crafts, current events, 1 to 1's, game time, baking, outside entertainment, bingo, discussion groups, active games, etc.).
  • Complete daily paper work as directed.

 

Qualifications

Three to four years of high school, basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions, and the ability to read, write, add and subtract are required.

The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine is a 97-bed skilled nursing facility that comprises of a Transitional Care Unit (TCU), Long-Term Care (LTC) and memory care.
